Taranaki Employment and Support Foundation Trust
Established in 2000, Taranaki Employment and Support Foundation Trust (TESF) is
an umbrella Trust that runs 5 community projects.
As well as Volunteering New Plymouth TESF
currently manages:
Settlement Support New Plymouth, a single point of contact for migrants settling in Taranaki. Settlement Support provides information, support, referral, co-ordination and orientation for migrants, and their families and helps migrants to overcome the challenges they face in a new country.
Experience Express, a service that assists and supports those over 40 apply
for and obtain employment.
Community Computer Access Centre, the centre provides free computer training and opportunity for clients to obtain their Computer Driving Licence qualification.
SCOPE, a scheme aimed at building capacity of the not for profit sector by providing funding for community organisations to access the assistance of experienced consultants at no cost to the groups to increase the capability and capacity.
In the past the Trust has also been responsible for the initiative of Youthworks, a scheme
to assist long term unemployed young people into paid work in the not for profit sector,
a Rural Transport Scheme that assists those handicapped in their job search by a lack of
transport, Connections, a scheme to assist young people successfully make a transition from
school to work or further training and education.
All projects of TESF are run as stand alone enterprises and are accounted for separately.
